COVID-19: 36 Almajiris Was Arrested By Covid-19 Taskforce In Mbiama, Ahoada

The Rivers State COVID-19 Taskforce arrest truck load of 36 Almajiris and prevented them from advancing into Rivers State, the COVID-19 Taskforce took 36 Almajiris to The Executive Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area, Hon. (Evang.) Hope O. Ikiriko CAN at Mbiama, Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State on Wednesday 10th June 2020.

The Almajiris were found hidding in a truck carrying about 450 goats and lying down under the goats as the truck was intercepted along the East/West road.

According to facebook post made by Mr Madu Dab Madueke, The Executive Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area, Hon. (Evang.) Hope O. Ikiriko CNA who was present at the Border, said, Those effected will be made to face the law accordingly after been profiled with a view to ascertaining the real owners of the Livestock”.

And The Government also solicited the cooperation of border residents in the Locality to always volunteer reliable information on movement of vehicles and people on illegal routes traversing the Local Government in violation of the ban on interstate movement by the Government”. He said.
